The core concepts, and skills of crisis management have been developed, tested, and applied within the emerging area of hostage or crisis negotiation, and are now being applied to other volatile, potentially violent situations.
Conflict resolution professionals do not usually obtain the necessary preparation for crisis management efforts in school violence, workplace crisis, family mediation and community relations, or law enforcement and government incidents.
